Abride in Illinois wanted to make her wedding ceremony unique, so she concocted an unconventional plan to sing while walking down the aisle.
The heartwarming video, recorded in 2013, shows bride Arianna Pflederer singing an altered rendition of Carrie Underwood’s “Look At Me,” a song originally recorded by Alan Jackson. The clip went viral last year and has since been viewed over 11 million times online. The groom, Ryan Pflederer, was completely unaware Arianna was planning to sing.
“I had no idea,” he said in the Q&A video, posted a year after the couple’s wedding. Arianna, sitting next to him, replied, “I was surprised I could keep it a secret from you.”
On Youtube, Arianna explained that she was continuing a tradition started by her mother, who sang down the aisle at her own wedding.
The couple first met in high school, and within a month of dating the couple became engaged in order to rebel against their parents. The couple explains on YouTube that the relationship was going so well, Ryan proposed to Arianna again with a real diamond ring the following Valentines Day.
In July of 2013, when Ryan and Arianna were both 20 years old, they tied the knot. Even a year after the wedding, Ryan was able to recall how special the moment was to him.
“She wanted to show her love for me and I’m extremely grateful that she did,” Ryan explained on YouTube. “I was tearing up the whole time.”
In January, the couple’s first child, Revelynne, was born. The family is expecting a second child in April of 2016.
